Dr. Paul Ciechanowski, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Paul Ciechanowski is a board-certified psychiatrist with a background as a board-certified family doctor. He served as a consult-liaison psychiatrist on medical and surgical units and as outpatient behavioral lead of a national diabetes center at the University of Washington for nearly two decades. He has served as principal investigator or co-investigator on CDC- and NIH-funded studies and has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles in the areas of: health services research assessing psychosocial factors associated with costs/utilization, missed visits; patient-provider communication; treatment adherence; collaborative care; attachment theory; depression and diabetes; night eating syndrome. Additionally, Dr. Ciechanowski is an experienced and sought-after presenter. For example, in the past 12-18 months, he has provided invited keynotes or presentations at Cleveland Clinic, Harvard/Massachusetts General, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions, McGill University, Quality Improvement Organizations (QIO) and National Learning and Action Networks (LAN), etc. Over the years, he has served in various leadership roles, including – Director of a national ACGME Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship Program, Principal
Investigator on NIH/CDC clinical trials or NIH Career Development Award grants, Director of a national training program at UW’s Center for Commercialization (now CoMotion), CEO/CMO of Samepage Health. Dr. Ciechanowski recently served on an American Diabetes Association (ADA) board for 5 years, and was president of ADA Community Leadership Board for three years. In his role as Chief Medical Officer of Samepage Health, Dr. Paul and his team help healthcare systems develop robust scientific and scalable clinical and administrative workflows and IT capabilities to improve outcomes and reduce costs in complex populations with medical and behavioral conditions. Samepage Health Training Services
Training and consultation services are led by Dr. Ciechanowski who has conducted health services research and clinical trials in population health interventions, including collaborative care, over 20 years. Dr. Ciechanowski previously founded and led a national behavior health training center at University of Washington’s Center for Commercialization. When necessary, Dr. Ciechanowski is joined by his team of seasoned nurses and social work trainers who each have more than two decades of experience as trainers.
